Meet Eva Monheim.  She is the author of Shrubs & Hedges a book that was inspired by her years of teaching woody plants as an assistant professor at Temple University in the department of landscape architecture and horticulture. A principal at VEE – Verdant Earth Educators, LLC – Eva and her colleagues train green industry professionals using sustainable management practices to help clients reach a carbon neutral environment.
An award-winning educator, Eva teaches Landscape Management at The Barnes Arboretum at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and is a faculty member at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania for the Professional Horticulture Program.
Professionally trained, Monheim holds degrees from the Pennsylvania State University in horticulture and art, and from Arcadia University with a master’s degree in English literature.
While completing her master’s thesis in English, Eva won the prestigious Ambassadorial Scholarship through Rotary International. She spent an academic year at the University of Reading in England where she worked on her master's in horticulture while completing her thesis on how landscapes affect the minds of writers.
Eva’s experience in England, reinforced her global appreciation of garden design and environmental sensitivity. 
Eva is a certified arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), a master floral designer, a certified tree steward, photographer, and artist. She holds membership in ISA, the American Horticultural Society (AHS), the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), the Hardy Plant Society/Mid-Atlantic Group (HPS/MAG), Women in Horticulture, the International Dendrology Society (IDS), and Garden Communicators International (GardenComm).
Monheim’s articles, designs, and photographs have appeared in national, regional, and local magazines, as well as newspapers. She also had her own garden column for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Monheim also has weekly podcast - The Plant a Trillion Trees Podcast which features guest from around the globe. The podcast is in 30 countries.

In addition to her varied talents, Monheim is a Reiki Master Teacher.
